 Safe Bedrail that was easy to install February 16, 2009

We purchased this bedrail because we mistakenly purchased a "convertible" crib from Target that didn't include rails for the toddler stage, and we didn't want to purchase a separate toddler bed. This rail was very easy to install. It only took me about 10 minutes while minding a very busy toddler in the same room. The rail is very sturdy and safe, and the wooden part can be easily removed in seconds for changing crib/bed linens. The only downside is that the wood is unfinished. If I were a little more handy and/or motivated, I could easily stain it to match my son's crib.

Kidco has done it again. This product like all of their other products is sturdy and simple to use. The rail comes in about 6-8 pieces that snap together, no tools needed, and once together you can adjust it to the width of your mattress. The best part is the wood comes bare so you can match it to your crib. For $1.96 at a hardware store I got a can of spray on wood stain that sealed it and matched it to my son's crib almost perfectly (and it dried in about 30 minutes too!). The rail also has a great feature that it snaps on and off from the base for making the bed or getting your little one in and out if you want. After several other rails that were too bulky to work right on our convertible crib, this was a great answer.

I purchased this item because my toddler's convertible crib doesn't come with toddler rails. At first I was a bit hesitant about about the price, but I purchased it anyway and gave it a try. I actually like it much better than some of the other less expensive plastic or mesh rails out there. I placed this rail in the center of her bed, and she still has room to get in/out with no problem. She has been sleeping there and hasn't had any accidents falling down. This rail can be easily removed if needed to change sheets, etc.
Easy to install: the instruction book comes in different languages, so you do have to flip back/forth between the written instruction and the drawings, but it's straightforward.

This item is perfect for the transition from sleeping in a crib to sleeping in a convertible crib and getting ready to sleep in a regular bed. My grandaughter loves being a "big girl" now.

These have worked great for my twins. I felt horrible when they fell out at night and hit the floor. I ordered these right away and they are sleeping great. they can get in and out easily and I just leave the railing on all day too.
