Great so far October 23, 2009 Greene "PB" (Kern Valley, CA) 16 out of 22 found this review helpful
We have only owned the umbrella for a few weeks, so cannot judge on lasting quality. It was easy to put together, looks very nice and gives good shades. Easy to change positions. We did not use the stand that came with it, since we had a stand leftover from another umbrella that we liked better. (A water filled stand). We get heavy winds in our area, and so far have closed the umbrella under windy conditions.
Good buy July 24, 2010 Paul Minihan Good purchase, the umbrella is very big. There is one drawback. To rotate the umbrella around you have to move the entire stand. That's rough when you have four paving stones on top of the base. There are very limited positions you can rotate the umbrella to without having to move the whole unit. This becomes a factor through the day as the sun moves across the sky and you want to move the umbrella to remain in the shade. It would be nice if you could rotate and secure the umbrella independent of the base. Umbrella blocks the sun well, but it is not completely light blocking.
not enough shade August 4, 2010 Cathy F (Wisconsin, USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Very nice looking umbrella, but the umbrella lets in too much sun because it is a mesh fabric. Not effective for avoiding a sunburn or for providing a cool place to sit. I'm very disappointed.
Sun still shines very bright under the umbrella. July 17, 2010 Julie Dawson (Kenosha, WI United States) While the umbrella does seem to keep our deck cooler, the sun still shines very brightly under the umbrella. The fabric of the umbrella is mesh like so there is a great deal of sun that still shines through. I still need to wear my sunglasses underneath.
broken August 4, 2010 miragern 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Lovely umbrella. Looks good, it's portable, nice design. BUT...one of the sliding plastic pieces broke and rendered it unusable. There is no recourse...the company does not have replacement parts. We've had it for a bit over a year, so it's unreturnable, as well. Wouldn't want to, anyway, because then it's just a piece of landfill.
